“Towards a Research Agenda on the Emergence of (Informal) Constitutional Culture into (Formal) Constitutional Order“

Abstract
Constitutional success, constitutional choice and constitutional political economy are not mere academic curiosities. Constitutional environments have important consequences for a country’s stability, freedom, economic growth, and general flourishing. Unfortunately, constitutional choice and institutional stickiness are still misunderstood, as is the interplay between (informal) constitutional culture and (formal) constitutional order. In the spirit of Oskar Morgenstern (1972), this paper proposes a research agenda towards understanding and measuring the emergence of constitutional culture into constitutional order.
